Graduate Women's Gatherings

2007-2008

REGISTER NOW!

The Graduate Women’s Gatherings are luncheons that focus on issues of particular concern to graduate women. Women in academia face distinct challenges. This is particularly true for women in the sciences and technical fields, where they have been, and remain, under-represented. The Graduate Women’s Gatherings are designed to address graduate women’s issues. The gatherings alternate between seminar talks, interactive workshops, and networking lunches. Women faculty, administrators, and students share stories about succeeding in academia. Programs provide an opportunity for all women graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, administrators and faculty members to share ideas and experiences on topics ranging from professional collaboration to relationship with advisors to negotiation.

To register for any GWG event, go the the registration page.

If you have any difficulty, please call the Graduate Programs Office at x8-7970.

Thursday, September 13, 4:00 - 5:30 PM:
Welcome Back Wine & Cheese Reception, featuring a panel of graduate women from all across campus
Register by:
Thurs, Sept 13

Women faculty, administrators and graduate students will gather to welcome new women graduate students and to reconnect with each other for the new academic year. A panel of women graduate students from the seven colleges will speak about their first year and field questions from those in attendance.

Please note that when the GPO planned this event, we believed the Jewish holy days of Rosh Hashanah to begin at sunset on Sept 13. Thus, we scheduled the reception from 4-5:30, to allow those observing the holiday to return home before sunset. However, the holiday begins on the 12th. We extend our apologies for the scheduling conflict to those observing Rosh Hashanah and wish them L'shanah tovah.
