Student Vice President Brittany McCandless
Phi Kappa Phi Vice President Brittany McCandless, HS 2008, is an Andrew Carnegie Scholar who was honored with a Student Service award at Homecoming. She is a Professional Writing and Creative Writing major, with a minor in International Relations. Having served as an Orientation Counselor and Leader, she planned the first-year Orientation this fall as a Head Orientation Counselor. Brittany also has been News Editor of the school newspaper, president of the honors organization Lambda Sigma, member of the honors organization Mortar Board, Chair of the Student Giving Committee, and a student employee in Alumni Relations. In addition she also helped organize student government elections this spring and fall. She is the newspaper advisor at the public middle school, Sterrett Classical Academy, where she began the newspaper, and she is a junior leader for Girl Scout troop 15 in Squirrel Hill. A member of the Humanities Scholars Program, Brittany is a freelance writer for Carnegie Mellon Today and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
