Graduate Programs

Graduate Peer Mentors, 2009-10

Graduate Peer Mentors are experienced graduate students and post-docs from a broad range of graduate programs across campus. They are available to any graduate student in any program at CMU, especially those in the first years of graduate work, to provide information, connections, and informal support in the critical first years of graduate study.

Peer mentors can provide information on:

  • important university resources for graduate students
  • graduate-level academic culture
  • Pittsburgh and what's going on around town
  • faith communities
  • political groups, volunteer opportunities
  • community service
  • and much more!

Peer mentors cannot provide health or psychological counseling or academic advising. But they can help you find dedicated people, here on campus, who can provide these services.
